Metal Poster Prints for Wall Art on Eco HD Aluminium

A Brief History

A Brief History

In The Beginning...

C'est La Vie Prints was established pre-Covid 19, but gained wings during the global lockdown.

Created by Top rated creative designer, Richard Byrne, using an ethical business model he had read about in Jonathan Self's "Good Money, A Guide on How to Become an Ethical Entrepreneur".

With a business slowing down in 2020, he decided he needed a more long-term strategy.

By the time lockdown hit the world, he knew he had to create something for the future of his 2-year old son, who he became separated from at the beginning of the pandemic.

Rolling The Dice

Through the use of images with a Creative Commons Licence (CCL), he decided to use his skills and experience as a Professional Image Editor to edit and enhance these classic images.

The original classic art and photos on C'est La Vie Prints website have been retouched with care, trying to simply show how they may have looked originally. Over time, artwork generally fades, be it on canvas, paper or most other print materials.

Richard's idea was to keep the original rawness of the artwork, but give them a slight digtial upgrade... akin to the new Star Wars movies, albeit, a lot less digitally enhanced! Sometimes only very minute changes to color, vibrancy and tones are needed. Other times, there are visible dust and scratch marks that Richard carefully cleans up in Photoshop.

"Try to learn something about everything and everything about something." - Thomas Huxley

Richard gained his experience through many design related fields. Having completed his degree in CG & Animation back in 2001, one of the first in the world to have such a degree.

He has a wealth of experience in many areas to draw on, from fields such as E-Commerce, E-Learning, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Photo Editing, Retouching, Illustration, Animation, Painting, Photography... and a love for all things Arty.

He spent 7 years in a Senior Design Management position for News Corp, before leaving in 2-13 with his voluntary redundancy package, to pursue his dream of travelling around the world.

Richard's Essential Travel Tips For Any Big Adventure Trip

  • Your Feet are your Friends

Invest in a comfortable pair of trainers/walking shoes... For all the time you'll spend on your feet, you're really going to need them!

  • Bigger isn't always better

A good quality compact camera is better than lugging around a camera bag along with your heavy rucksack.

  • Bag a deal on a decent Quality Rucksack

Along with what you wear on your feet, your Rucksack can also play the big part in making your journey a comfortable one. You may even have to use it as a pillow at times - trust me!

  • Sound and Vision

SOUND: If you're like me and you like to listen to music on your journeys, you're going to need a decent set of headphones

VISION: Eye protection from the strong sunlight in some countries are also a necessity, so a decent pair of sunglasses was something that I simply couldn't be without.

Passionate About Passions

Richard is a keen photographer and loved documenting his trip using his trusted compact digital camera. Most of his magnificent photos currently still remain unpublished, but you can see a select few right here!

Sometime in the future, Richard would love to write a book about his experiences and also create a photo book along with it. He is reserving a special collection of his travel photos to sell exclusively on C'est La Vie Prints in the coming months.

His dream lasted for 2 years before he called it a day. He wounded his leg in Vietnam, badly burning it on a motorbike exhaust (which happens to many travellers - It even has a name - "The Thai Tattoo" - A mark of distinction among nomads), so he felt it was finally time to return home.

When he awoke from that dream, he had a new perspective of society, government, power, people... and of OUR Planet in general. There were many great and amazing things he witnessed along his journey... but also some disappointing things too.

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Mahatma Gandhi

One thing that was very clear to him, was how humans are slowly destroying the planet through consumption and neglect for the things that we rely on to survive (ironically).

Seeing how plastic has become such a prevalent problem... How global consumption of unnecessary products is causing unnecessary harm to Eco systems worldwide.

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle

Richard was awakened to the need for change in a lot of what we do, as inhabitants of this planet. Less wastefulness.

That's why Print-On-Demand and using 100% Recyclable materials was a viable business solution in Richard's mind.

By the time he had completed his 2-Year world adventure, he had begun establishing himself in the Digital Nomad World of Freelancing. He had no ambitions to sit at desk in a 9-5 ever again!

With his Advanced Photoshop skills and business acumen, he quickly became a popular freelance photo editor on the PeoplePerHour freelance platform. Within his first year he achieved Top ranking (Top 5% from over 250,000 registered freelancers).

With the help of his print lab partners, Pixfulfilment in Paris, Richard is confident in the long lasting quality of Chromaluxe Metal wall art and is very much looking forward to his future in the world of online business.

"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." - Leonardo da Vinci

With a lot time and dedication, Richard is continually and actively growing C'est La Vie Prints into an astounding collection of unique art and photography.

He believes these metal prints will stand the test of time, while older printing technologies, such as Canvas and Paper will be long gone!
